In August 2020, the School of Computer Science (SCS-HSG) was founded as the sixth school at the University of St. Gallen. Our School is the first to introduce engineering sciences to the University of St. Gallen and aims to combine profound technical knowledge within the field of Computer Science with entrepreneurial thinking.
We believe that a Computer Science school at a university with a long tradition as a renowned business school, gives us unique opportunities for excellent education, research and collaboration.
Our School is located centrally in the city of St. Gallen at Rosenbergstrasse 30 and Torstrasse 25.
Our research
Currently, the faculty of the SCS-HSG consists of 12 professors, teaching and conducting research in eight research groups;
Our teaching engagement
Our study programmes are offering a modern and innovative curriculum, which combines Computer Science with relevant courses within the management- and entrepreneurship disciplines. Graduates from our School will be equipped with solid competencies in both theory and application of Computer Science, as well as the skills and mindset needed to pursue a career as a Computer Science entrepreneur or to hold an executive position in a technology company.
Our B.Sc. in Computer Science, offered from fall semester 2022, is mainly taught in German, with a few courses offered in English. Our M.Sc. in Computer Science is offering a specialisation in Data Science or in Software and Systems Engineering and is taught in English.
Computer Science courses for other study programs
Our faculty offers various courses in topics related to computer science which are part of the curriculum in other School’s study programmes.
Ph.D. in Computer Science
Within the Doctoral School of Computer Science the SCS-HSG is offering an attractive research environment to young scientific talents. Our doctoral researchers benefit from close interaction between the different research groups and play an active part in the teaching activities of the SCS-HSG.
